Battle Rules
There are a unique set of rules that apply specifically to this section of the board. The regular rules of the board still apply here.
1. If you want to battle someone click on the Challenge link in their profile. If they accept then start a thread in the Staging Area with both names as a title (Grell vs Sebastian).
2. A person DOES NOT have to accept an invitation to fight. Also if a person is listed as Non-confrontational then please do not attempt to challenge them (you'll notice that the Challenge Button doesn't appear on their profile). Anyone who pesters a person to fight them will be banned from the Battle Arena area.
Staging Area Preperation:
3. The area that you intend to fight in must be described in as much detail as possible to make sure that both fighters can visualize the field. (Pictures make this a lot easier.) Will there be tree's? buildings? a river? Where is the giant rock in location to the large oak tree? All of this needs to be laid out.
4. Both characters must start by posting the following:
A) Their own abilities
B) Any weapons, clothing or other items/summons that can be used
C) The amount of damage that each attack/weapon can do.
(Reasonably.)
D) What they know about their opponent (this cannot be everything)
5. Both players must demonstrate a knowledge of the layout and agree to all aspects of the battle in the Staging Area before moving into the Fighting Arena.
6. The challenged (person who received the challenge) is given the option to decide who posts first. Players must take turns posting. Do not post out of turn.
Fighting Arena Battles
7. Once both sides agree to the rules and terms whoever is to post first may create a thread in the Fighting Arena with the same names (Grell vs Sebastian).
8. At the start of each post you must include two items:
A) You HP Bar: Type: [ HP=550/550 ] Do not put more than 550.
(The image will look bad.)
B) If you are directly attacking then include the Attack Amount.
(The "Attack Rates" is just under the colors in the Reply. You can't use Quick Reply for this.)
9. The attack amount is the percentage of your attack that can be applied as damage. For example if your attack would deal 10 damage in full and your Attack Amount comes out at 47% then your attack will deal 5 damage. (Round down for below 5, round up for 5 and above.) This is still only potential damage. Your opponent must confirm a hit.
10. With each attack you take you must subtract that amount from your HP bar.
11. Characters will ONLY be allowed to use the abilities/weapons/summons/and terrain features that they listed. Using anything else or knowing something that you didn't list will result in the deletion of that post. You will be PM'ed that your post is in violation and given the option to modify it first. (To be able to modify a post please send your completed change to the Executioner in a PM and he will modify your post for you.)
12. The Executioner is the referee of the Battle Arena and has the final say in all rulings. If you continue to argue with him you will be banned from the Battle Arena.
13. If you want to withdraw from a fight then your character must do so in a post. You must also follow through with whatever actions would happen to you in that post. (I.E. your opponent is about to stab you in the chest, then you have to get stabbed in the chest.) If you just stop posting because you start losing or you get into a point where you are forced to take a hit then you will be docked 8 points. If we note that you have logged on but not posted for 3 days you will be sent a reminder via PM. If you have not posted after a week the points will be deducted and the thread will be locked with your opponent declared the winner. If you have informed of us of a reason for absence then you are fine and we will ask your opponent to please wait until you return.
14. Winning a battle will gain you 5 points. Finishing a battle to the end (losing without withdrawing) will gain you 2 points. If the battle ends in a tie both will be given 3 points.
15. You are not allowed to fight against another account you control. (You can just for fun but we won't award any points.)
16. Remember that the Battle Arena is a side board and that you still need to participate in the main plot. Users who are spending more time posting here than in the main IC will be added to the limit list and will then only be allowed to post twice a day in the Battle Arena.
17. If you have any concerns/questions/complaints please bring them to the attention of the Executioner.
